Annals of mistranslation

Hillary Clinton gives the Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov a little red button to push.

Not sure about the wisdom of giving the Russians a red button to push.

But we learned something: Peregruzka means overcharge. You might be able to use that the next time you're in Dubai.

Well, maybe they'll press that red button on accident giving us extra seconds to press ours first. A very shrewd gift.

Seems hard to believe that the State Department doesn't have any competent Russian translators.

Also, according to Eugene Volokh, it means overcharge in the sense of overloading an electrical device, not to charge too much money.
